New Solana Tank

Brought home the new Solana tank and some supplies.

I’m liking the tank. The filtration scheme and baffles in the back chambers are certainly a step up from the Aquapod, and I love the frame less look. Construction seems solid. During the leak test, things where a little noisier than I expected, but I’m sure it was amplified by the fresh water, lack of glass top, and echo chamber effect of the tub and bathroom.

The stand is okay. I did have to assemble it, but it is mostly made of solid wood. I had some trouble getting the front door to be completely level, but I’ll tweak that once I have the full weight of the tank on there and the whole thing levelled.

  1. Mr. Pilkington says:

    Still no sump, eh?

  2. Eggplant! says:

No sump. Noise and space is a large concern here. There is space in the back chambers of the Solana that I could use as a sort of mini refugium.
