So. The sans-fish tank.

Things have been rough for the tank. I’ve moved since my last update so long ago, and time spent on the poor tank has been short. I basically just moved it to the new place and piled all the rocks and corals in there. But now that things have settled down, I’m going to restart the tank.

ReefKeeper 2 Remote Data Logging

After much fiddling about, I’ve finally got my remote data logger for the ReefKeeper 2 running well. You may have noticed the Tank Status widget to the right recently. It shows my current temperature, pH, and power channel status on the RK2, pretty much in real time. Clicking on the widget takes you to the historical graph page where you can view history on various time scales. This is still very much under development (currently working on optional channel graphing) but it’s already pretty neat!

Refractometer

When I ordered the MH bulbs for my sunpod, I also threw in this portable refractometer. I’ve been reading about how inaccurate the swing-arm type hydrometers can be, and this device was cheap enough to take a chance on.
